Over the Line Sauvignon Blanc 2022
About the wine
Seductive Loire Valley style Savvy B from Coonawarra
Jack and his vineyard manager Rae have nurtured their vines to bring out the richer fruit characters in the grapes. They harvest at just the right moment to capture the balancing natural acidity.
Cool, slow fermentation has locked in that enticing floral fruitiness before bottling without delay to preserve the tempting freshness.
This is a full-flavoured, fruity Savvy Blanc with a zesty finish - more like the seductive Loire Valley styles. It’s bursting with fruit salad characters along with the herby hints typical of its varietal. Definitely an “I’d like another glass of that please” wine!

This is best as either an aperitif or with salads, fish or tarts. The flavours can be overwhelmed by heavy higher proteins
I would enjoy this with a goats cheese salad, a piece of grilled fish or even an asparagus risotto
It not aimed at cellaring it relies on its freshness

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jack Burston & Peter Douglas
What Peter doesn’t know about Coonawarra isn’t worth knowing. His first winemaking job was at the iconic Wynns winery in the 1980s, where he quickly climbed the ladder to become Senior Winemaker for both Wynns and the local Penfolds Lindemans wines. Global vintages followed before he headed back to his beloved Coonawarra as a consultant and contract winemaker.
Grape grower Jack’s biggest customers were corporations with big wine brands. Trouble was, they paid peanuts for his gorgeous grapes and then disappeared completely when the China Tariff Crisis hit.
Thanks to Naked backing, the two were able to get together. “Peter’s finally making the wines he really wants to, without others looking over his shoulder, and my grapes are living up to their full potential!” Jack told us. And you get their exclusive wine. Win, win!
