- As first-generation winemakers, Damien and Jodie built their award-winning winery from the ground up! Their careers got off to a flying start with their first-ever Semillon named best current vintage Semillon and best current vintage white wine at the Hunter Valley Wine Show in 2010, and they haven’t slowed down since. Today, they have over 9 trophies and 23 gold medals to their name!
- Having honed their skills during vintages at top Hunter Valley wineries like Brokenwood, McGuigan and Briar Ridge, and further afield in the old-world winemaking region of Campania, Italy, the dedicated duo has a truckload of experience up their sleeves.

Their passion for each unique vintage is undeniable, with each drop in the Fuzzy & May collection reflecting the best techniques and innovation that the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Meet Damien and Jodie.
As first-generation winemakers Damien and Jodie got their start on the flip side of the industry, working in high end hospitality all around the world. A love of sharing quality wines with others shifted their focus from venues to vineyards, and multiple vintages at top Hunter Valley wineries including Brokenwood, McGuigan, Briar Ridge and Wandin Valley followed, with a stop to pick up old-world knowledge in Campania, Italy along the way.
While they may not have winemaking history in their family tree, a trailblazing spirit led to the creation of their own wine label in 2009 with their first Semillon promptly nabbing best current vintage Semillon and best current vintage white wine at the 2010 Hunter Valley Wine Show. The awards have continued to roll in ever since – today they have over 9 trophies and 23 gold medals to their name.
But being a small, family-run operation leaves little time to secure the crucial sales and distribution channels needed to get their wine onto the tables of Aussie wine drinkers – they were far too busy in the winery making it! And that’s where Angels stepped in. Damien and Jodie were liberated in 2016 with their boutique batches of Fuzzy & May wines – a dedication to their children - earning top marks after being snapped up time and again.
Today, Damien and Jodie focus on harvesting premium fruit for their handcrafted, regionally definitive wines. Their vast array of experience and access to real feedback from real wine drinkers (that’s you!) helps them to bounce ideas off once another, adapting to the ever-changing vintage conditions to ensure their wines reflect the best techniques and innovation that the Hunter Valley has to offer.
