- Expected the unexpected from this creative Queensland pair! When Glen and Andrew stumbled upon Shiraz and Viognier vines in need of a little TLC in 2014, they knew they had found the perfect place to begin their La Petite Mort journey.
- Thanks to Angel support, Glen (former research scientist) and Andrew (hospitality guru) have been able to re-vitalise a historic, cool-climate vineyard in the Granite Belt, flexing their sustainable winemaking skills with slow-ripening, hand-picked fruit that packs a flavourful punch!
- From fermenting in terracotta amphora to partially drying grapes, the innovative techniques behind the hidden gems in the La Petite Mort range represent the idea of letting go of restraints and revelling in something new… like Glen and Andrew’s truly artisan wines!

Meet Glen and Andrew.
The Queensland duo crossed paths in 2012 when Glen, a former research scientist, and Andrew, a head restaurant Sommelier, met at a wine tasting. They bonded over a penchant for experimentation and a love of wines that are a little left of field, with a plan to craft artisan drops made in short order!
After spending the next two years working together at Bent Road winery, Glen and Andrew stumbled upon 10 picturesque hectares of Shiraz and Viognier vines at the derelict Mary’s vineyard, situated in Queensland’s Granite Belt. Between a high elevation and the vineyard’s shielded position away from the tropical influences of the coast, it was the perfect place to begin their La Petite Mort journey. Using organic practices, elbow grease and a little TLC, the pair nursed the vines back to health, re-vitalising the historic vineyard along the way.
Glen and Andrew joined the Naked family in 2016, just as the Queensland wine industry was beginning to cause a stir. Their winemaking philosophy focuses on minimum filtering and finishing that allows the essence of their small batch, boutique wines to shine through, heroing the slow-ripening, hand-picked fruit.
The hidden gems in the La Petite Mort range represent the idea of letting go of restraints and revelling in something new… like their truly artisanal wines! Every vintage sees Glen and Andrew set aside parcels of grapes to experiment with, using techniques like fermenting in terracotta amphora and partially drying the grapes. It’s wise to expect the unexpected from this team!
