About the wine
A Bloody Good Red for a bloody good cause!
- You've found another Aussie beauty that was destined for China. He set out to sell his Bloody Good Red to support an Aussie Not-For-Profit that raises funds for blood cancer research. A cause close to Mike’s heart as he lost his father to the terrible disease.
This elegant red signifies hope for thousands of Aussies. Matured for twelve months in American oak for a nip of sweet spices, it’s a generous mouthful of ripe blackberries with a shake of white pepper and smooth tannins.
Mike and his family have been winemaking for over thirty years. Don't miss this chance to support a bloody good cause by getting your lips around their magnificent 2018 Western Australian Shiraz.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Mike Calneggia
- Mike has been growing grapes and making wine in the Margaret River region for over 30 years. He has supplied grapes to many of the regions leading wine companies and in more recent times has started producing some wines under his own CALNEGGIA label reflecting the Calneggia Family Vineyards values.
- Mike brought “The Bloody Good Red” project to Naked Wines because he knew from good friend Brian Fletcher (who also buys fruit from Mike) that the wine would get the attention needed to provide awareness about the fundraising aspect of the wine.
- Part of the proceeds from the sales of “The Bloody Good Red” project go to the Snowdome Foundation. Australia’s leading provider of funding for blood cancer research. Mike’s dad Jim sadly succumbed to a particularly aggressive form of blood cancer. Apart from growing grapes and making wine Mike is an avid aviator, mediocre golfer and long term supporter of the West Coast Eagles AFL team.”
