About the wine
Bewitching Chardonnay from a stunning vintage
This crisp, refreshing white started life in the Murrummong Vineyard, Yarra Valley - known for lovely refined Chardonnay like you’d find in Chablis, France.
Brian has conjured up a stunning sip. A rush of lemon sherbet and roast almond will hit you first, followed by classic white nectarine and plump stone fruit.
Such a classic vintage, you might not see the like again for years! It’s a terrific example of this tricky-to-make wine from a clever winemaker with 23 years experience.
Best before
Drink now or 2-5 years.
Serving advice
Fast.
Food match
Whole John Dory, pan fried with loads of butter, some capers and good EVOO!! Roast Chicken. If vegan or vego a lovely stir fry with some fried tofu, sesame seeds, pak choy and any other seasonal favourite veg in the mix (except green capsicum...) Not too heavy on the soy or destroy the flavours in the wine.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Brian Conway
Brian’s passion for a life in wine was inspired by his Dad, and a glass of 1983 Dom Perignon that ‘blew me away’. The pair shared a dream to start a wine business together, but his father passed away too soon and they never got the chance.
When it came to choosing his career, Brian couldn’t go past winemaking. Not just because it sounded awesome, but because his Dad would have been stoked to have a son who was a winemaker.
After a 3 year hiatus from a stellar career making wine with his best mate, Angels have given Brian a second chance to get back in the game he loves so dearly. He couldn’t be happier or more grateful!
