About the wine
Shiraz that is sure to knock your socks off!
- Cathy and Neil Howard’s first ever Boots & All red wines have arrived! This beautifully balanced full flavoured Shiraz from their beloved burgeoning WA wine region of Geographe is sure to knock your socks off. A small amount of premium grapes from the Frankland River region adds another dimension of complexity and flavour to the wine.
- Hand-crafted, basket-pressed and matured on French oak for 11 months this luscious Shiraz is silky-soft and super generous on the palate. Aromas of blueberries, plums and raspberries are beautifully balanced by smooth as silk tannins all with the oh-so-generous flavour complexity of ripe dark berries. A perfect wine to match with a range of dishes.
- You can taste the labour-intensiveness in this handcrafted Shiraz. After your first glass you will be reaching for more as the flavours evolve. A Shiraz that shows sensational colour, soft tannins, balanced with great length and great cellaring potential... your patience will be rewarded if you stash a couple of bottles away!
Best before
At least 5 years but probably longer! It all depends on what type of flavours you like in your aged shiraz as to when it is best to drink for you. This wine has balance, structure and flavour weight setting it up to age. Wines can surprise you, so I suggest buying some extra bottles and storing them away to try every 12 months.
Serving advice
As it's a young red, I would open the bottle, an hour or so before you are planning on drinking it.
Food match
Slow cooked beef cheek with various spices. I have a great recipe if anyone is interested?
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Cathy & Neil Howard
Cathy & Neil run their own brilliant Geographe vineyard in Western Australia. This is where the Boots & All magic happens, turning out hand-crafted wines full of TLC and flavour. What’s more their winery earned a 5-star rating and was awarded one of ten Dark Horse wineries by James Halliday in 2015.
With a combined 55 years of experience working with some of the BIGGEST and BEST in the game, we didn’t hesitate welcoming this wonder couple in to the Naked community. Cathy honed her winemaking craft at the likes of St Hallett in the Barossa, and Neil’s vigneron experience has come from the likes of the mighty Sandalford in Margaret River.
It's been a long road to taking the leap and managing their own patch of perfect soil - a dream for any passionate winemaker. Now, with Angel backing, Cathy & Neil have the ability to craft small batch, single vineyard wines which are full of varietal flavour from grapes grown in ancient soils. This is the kind of freedom that turns wine into something truly personal, unique and undeniably delicious.
