About the wine
A classic rare Shiraz from this world-class team!
The legendary multi award-winning Barossa team of Nigel Dolan and Caroline Dunn has handcrafted a Shiraz of rare distinction from their cherished regions of Barossa Valley and Langhorne Creek.
Both regions excel at growing Shiraz with the complementary characters coming beautifully together to create a wine of harmony and balance. Nigel and Caroline’s winemaking approach is very hands-off allowing the premium quality of the fruit to shine through.
A rich concentrated wine showing dark fruit aromas of mulberry, blackberry and blueberry with hints of liquorice and spice, and, just the beginnings of a cigar box complexity that will further develop with age. The palate is full-bodied, with oodles of generous, supple fruit, intensity of flavour, and layered chocolatey tannins. Will age gracefully for another ten years too. Yummo!
Best before
Drinking well on release or will soften and develop further complexity with careful medium term ageing. Or, as Langhorne Creek Shiraz is known for its graceful long term ageing, those who like a more mature wine style could put it away for 10 years or more.
Serving advice
While not essential to this wine's enjoyment, allowing it to breathe for 30 minutes before drinking will more fully express its natural character. Serve at room temperature, or in warm weather allow to chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.
Food match
Perfect with a juicy chargrilled Argentinian T-bone with chimichurri sauce, slow-roasted lamb shoulder with root veggies, or eggplant parmigiana.
Contains sulphites
