About the wine
A delightfully smooth Pinot
- Aiming for a brutish Pinot Noir with a feminine twist, Nicky and her incredible Waipara team have simply nailed it. Single vineyard quality Pinot delivered to your door for under $24 is almost unheard of!
- The purity of fruit is amazing, allowing this wine to sing in the glass. You'll smell delightful spice and ripe cherries as you pour each glass! Balanced layers of fresh plums, blueberry and cardamom will follow with the robust tannin structure that gives this wine body and a lot of soul.
- Do yourself a favour and enjoy all that's on offer from this Dunnolly Pinot, which is consistently loved by thousands of other Angels!
Best before
This wine will be great for the next 5-10 years.
Serving advice
Please serve slightly chilled.
Food match
Tonight, I tried this wine with slow cooked lamb next chops. I was really dubious as I have never cooked or eaten lamb neck chops but they were juicy and incredibly tasty.
Recipe: Lamb neck chops – lightly covered in seasoned flour and browned off in the pan. I then popped them into the slow cooker with some rosemary and a couple of bay leaves. Two carrots chopped into squares, one white onion, two cloves of garlic and a good couple of handfuls of mushrooms. I then add some lamb stock, tin of tomatoes, a dash of soya sauce and a very large amount of 2019 Dunnolly Pinot Noir (which I had opened a few nights ago to share with friends). This was slow cooked for 8 hours, served with steamed broccoli and mash potatoes. A side of 2021 Dunnolly Pinot Noir just finished this off to be superb.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Nicky Parish
Nicky’s parents, Peter and Felicity, chose the tiny, unique Waipara Valley in New Zealand’s South Island to plant their longed for vineyard. Pruning the vines on crisp winter mornings ignited Nicky’s love affair with wine.
The Parish family continued to grow grapes for the best producers in New Zealand for 10 years, but yearned for greater security and their own name on the label. With Nicky now a seasoned winemaker, Angels gave her the amazing opportunity to work with and learn from her father.
To this day, Angels allow Nicky to grow the business and spend time with young family. With Peter taking a well-earned governorship role, Nicky’s picking up the baton managing more of the business. Although Peter is never far away (the local golf course) if she needs some advice!
