About the wine
Soft, juicy Barossa brilliance!
- Stuey's first ever blend made for Angels is simply bursting with plush fruity goodness! Get ready for a medium bodied drop, with a full and rich mid palate, fleshy fruits and a lingering finish. All individual batches of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro grapes were open fermented separately, basket pressed then matured separately in French and American oak hogsheads for almost a year. These four blokes treat grapes like gold, paying full respect to the grape growing families who produced the beautiful fruit.
- Stylistically it is very typical of Barossa GSM blends - a very honest "wine of the village" where the emphasis is on approachable fruit layers and soft tannins. Guaranteed to provide a warm and inviting look at why the Barossa is so special. The only difference is just how sensational the value for your money is - many similar Barossa GSM blends ask a much higher price.
- Under $15 Angel price for a hand made, artisanal scale wine, lovingly crafted barrel by barrel the old fashioned way..you've never seen anything quite like this before! By supporting Four Men and a shed you are supporting a passionate group of farming families from the most recognised region in Australia, who nurture their vines all year round, generation after generation. Go on..find some friends, find some food then add GSM to help find the fun!
Best before
If you want to have a crack now - go for it - its ready to go! If you want to wait a while, this will cellar comfortably and bring rewards to those who can wait for up to 5 years.
Serving advice
Not just this wine, but so many red wines, will benefit from a chance to breathe for a little while before serving. Splash the wine into a jug directly from the bottle, then pour slowly back into the bottle. Wait 20 minutes then serve. It makes a big difference and really helps to enhance and release many of the hidden flavours and aromas in reds.
Food match
Slow cooked lamb shanks in a red wine casserole base.......Mmmmmmmm.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Stuart Bourne
- Why did Stuart go down the wild winemaking path? To be able to drink his homework of course! Working right alongside three of his closest mates is the cherry on the top of this winemaking guru's story so far.
- He was originally a graduate in both Anatomy and Pharmacology. Since winemaking combines every discipline of Science, it appeals to the geek within. He loves tasting his experiments and now has 20 Australian vintages under his belt!
- For Stuart, it is the local growing families that continue to be the beating heart of the Barossa's world famous brilliance generation after generation. His passion for the Barossa has led to plenty of career highlights, like making it into the Top 100 Wines of the World in The Wine Spectator. Having a wine that he made served to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II also wasn't a bad day at the office!
