About the wine
Savoury, food-friendly single vineyard Shiraz
-
This delicious 2019 Shiraz is the second vintage from a painstakingly rescued vineyard in the Barossa Valley region.
-
Made in a lighter style, it’s a modern ‘bistro’ wine - perfumed, savoury, food-friendly and eminently drinkable. Expect a mouthful of dark berries, anise and plum with a classic shake of white pepper.
-
This wine is made exclusively for Angels - you can’t find it anywhere else! Don’t miss your chance to try it and tell Jane & Mark what you think.
Best before
I love this wine now, but Barossa shiraz will age for 5-10, continuing to develop in the bottle.
Serving advice
Great straight to pour from the bottle, but feel free to decant if you have one at hand.
Food match
The Barossa has a rich food culture. Cheese, meats and breads reflect the early settlers in the region. A platter of smoked meats, fresh sour dough, and local figs is hard to beat.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jane Osborne
-
Jane’s been entrenched in the wine industry since the mid ‘80s, either making it, buying it, selling it or writing about it. And she’s loved every minute of it.
-
Mark’s a 40-year veteran of the wine industry, making world-class wine for Matua Valley, Fosters and Cellarmasters in his time. Nowadays, he’s the chief winemaker, global, at Treasury Wine Estates.
- In 2016, they stumbled across a neglected vineyard in the Barossa Valley and poured every ounce of their being into re-energising its gnarly vines. Now it’s in peak condition and they’re creating Naked-exclusive Shiraz from those 20-year-old vines!
