About the wine
Gold medal Merlot with muscle - rich and full of flavour!
- This bold Merlot is sourced from Jen’s favourite Victorian vineyards and matured in old French oak barrels for 12 months. It’s a really intense style that Jen calls “the Merlot for Shiraz drinkers!”
- Catch a whiff of red cherry, berries and plum as you fill your glass. Then sit back and enjoy the red and black fruit flavours and lengthy, satisfying finish – powerful but elegant. No wonder it took out a gold medal at the Rutherglen Wine show.
- Jen's Diamond range is her top tier. You'd be hard pressed to find another Merlot for $20 that can compete with the depth and fullness of flavour you'll discover in this bottle!
Best before
My Diamond Merlot is delicious as a young wine, but will reward careful cellaring for ten years until 2030.
Serving advice
I recommend opening (and decanting if possible) my Diamond Merlot approximately 2 hours prior to serving.
The ideal serving temperature is 14-18°C.
Food match
My 2020 Diamond Merlot is a wonderful partner to most savoury foods, including roasted cauliflower steaks with char-grilled veggies; home made lamb koftas or oven-baked pork ribs.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jen Pfeiffer
- With the help of funding from Naked Wines, Jen is making wines the way she wants. This is a huge win for all involved, since Jen took home the Wine Society's Young Winemaker of the Year Sommelier's Choice Award in 2009!
- One of Jen's favourite things about being a Naked winemaker is chatting with you, the people who drink her wines. So go ahead! Ask her anything.
- Before she made wines for Naked, Jen earned her family's winery a 5 Star rating from James Halliday and her meticulous approach ensures she will bring the very best out of all the grapes that she works with.
