About the wine
A rich, generous and intense wine
- Anna and Derek return with the very best of their craft, delivering another outstanding vintage of their Uncharted Biodynamic Shiraz. Authenticity is reflected in the Hooper's approach to both wines and life, letting Mother Nature lead the way, following certified bio-dynamic and organic winemaking techniques.
- This is the wine that best shows their winemaking philosophy - growing the best grapes, without taking from the planet, and creating the best wine possible. The premium grapes have given this wine a flavour intensity and complexity second to none. Enjoy how those berry and spice characters sing out and hang around on your tongue. Yum!
- With its elegance and ever developing flavours, the past vintages of this Shiraz rated through the roof with our Angels at 92%. It will only improve gracefully over the years, so get it in your basket before this vintage gets snapped up!
Best before
This wine is drinking well now (but do let it breathe) however over the next ten years it will become softer and more savoury if you prefer an aged style.
Serving advice
Let this breathe... resist the temptation to pour yourself a glass for an hour. If you must pour... decant and allow the layers to open up!
Food match
We love our Shiraz with pasta! We love our Shiraz with a beef in red wine casserole! We love our Shiraz with a delicious creamy blue cheese! We love our Shiraz with a juicy steak... we just love our Shiraz!
BUT...
Meat doesnÂ’t necessarily need to be the hero with this intense flavourful Shiraz. It loves the dense earthiness of mushrooms and the robustness of eggplant. Think wild mushroom tart with a simple spinach and shaved Parmesan salad or roast eggplant and lentil ragout. Or if you really must have meat, roast duck with a sticky caramel glaze is sure to be a match!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Derek Hooper
Hooper & Co’s wines echo the pristine land they come from, the local community and pushing wine boundaries (Derek’s speciality!)
Derek’s son, Harry, splits his time between winemaking and brewing. Daughter Grace is already elbow deep in grape juice, and Daisy is a marketing specialist in the industry.
From father Kym’s first vineyard back in 1992, through Derek, to his fresh-faced, eager charges, they are one of the new families of wine. And they’re out to stir up your palate with fantastic drops with sustainability at their core.
