Pente by Pikes Cabernet Shiraz 2021
About the wine
Classic, classy Clare Valley red
- Hailing from Pike’s estate in Clare Valley off the back of one of the best Cabernet vintages they’ve ever seen! Wines from the same vineyard can sell for 4-5 times the price elsewhere.
- Gentle wild yeast fermentation has left its delicious mark on the grape juice, adding fruity complexity. Coupled with 9 months in seasoned French oak, it’s a special drop that really encapsulates Clare Valley red wines.
- Cassis, mulberry, spice and fine tannins make this an expression of Andrew & Jamie's classic 'less is more' philosophy. It's wine like this that has cemented the Pikes as one of Australia's most loved winemakers.
Best before
This wine is delicious upon relelase, but has the potential to age 5-8 years if you enjoy a red with some nottle age characteristics.
Serving advice
Like most young reds, a decant is helpful to allow it to open up. Or pour into a large wine glass, and see how it evolves in front of you.
