About the wine
A touch of Spain in Adam's South Australian red brilliance
- Angels couldn't get enough of last year's huge 93% rated Grenache, so it's back! This originally Spanish varietal has true finesse, and with Adam's TLC at every step of the winemaking process, he's put his own spin on this tantalising drop.
- The nose is perfumed with bright red fruits, while the crunchy medium bodied palate of ripe strawberries and sour cherries is balanced by savoury and textural nuances. Partial whole bunch fermentation brought about it's delicately complex layers.
- Angels have spoken and now it's here, a premium and unique Aussie Grenache at a delightfully diminished price. Jump in and get a little exotic..this red is the perfect pick me up after those afternoon siestas!

Serving advice
Will open up with a bit of air/decanting - Only drink from glasses you are prepared to break
Food match
Anything goes with this wine. It is a staple in our household. It is a lighter style of wine than what has come to be expected of Grenache but still has loads of complexity (akin to a Pinot). So, we are also happy to drink this sans food. But, if pressed, I like to drink it when we eat in-season mushroom bruschetta with goats cheese sprinkled on top. Equally, if someone is prepared to cook duck, I'll eat it!
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Adam Barton
- Adam Barton began his winemaking journey largely as a result of tasting a glass of the 1965 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy, which he described as "magic". He was already a master craftsman when we found him, creating tiny amounts of his own premium label wines and winning big at the wine shows.
- Based in the Clare Valley, Adam has the freedom to explore different variteals and keep pushing the boundaries of experimentation to the delight of Angels' taste buds. We knew from the start he was a wine genius and Angels would love him!
- Adam's Rabbit & Spaghetti range of wines are snapped up by Angels, year in, year out. Carefully selected vineyards, passionate grower partners & lots of care and attention to the smallest detail in the winery make them an amazingly good drop.
