Sorby Adams Eden Valley Riesling 2023
About the wine
Highly rated from the get-go!
- Sensationally dry and fresh Riesling - Tick. Perfect, Eden Valley grapes - Tick. Sorby Adams at the helm - Tick. If we didn’t have you at ‘Riesling’, you were likely hooked by ‘Eden Valley’ then salivating by the time you got to ‘Sorby Adams’. The former chief winemaker at Yalumba has just released his 2022 vintage of a standout Riesling.
- Bright citrus notes dance on your tongue, but this wine also has a very satisfying, well-rounded finish. It has an intoxicating scent of fresh green rockmelon and Granny Smith apple flavours, chased by lemon peel and blossom aromas. Wonderfully dry and concentrated on the palate, Sorby’s experience with making legendary Rieslings for Yalumba is really on show here.
- Bonus: It’s got great cellaring potential too, and at 32% off the average market price for Angels, that’s a very affordable way to lay down an already great wine and enjoy it a few years later when it becomes truly exceptional. Or as Sorby says so well, “It’s wonderfully poised for a graceful development.”
