About the wine
Juicy, crunch and down right delicious!
- A sensational medium-weight red, sourced from two old vine Grenache vineyards, one 130 years old, in the Barossa Valley. 2022 was a beautiful season for growing grapes, and the wines have a real elegance to them.
- The fruit was hand picked, gently destemmed and put in open stainless steel fermenters for 12 days on skins, allowing nature to work its magic. Finally the wine was pressed into old French oak barrels for 6 months to mature.
- A bright red delight, smelling of red fruits with subtle spices and savoury notes in the background. A sip reveals raspberries, cherries and strawberry compote with fine, long tannins, carrying the wine across your tongue like a silk blanket.
Best before
I personally enjoy Grenache as young wines, so I would drink within the next 12-24 months. If you prefer more secondary fruit characters and savoury notes in your wine, keep it in the cellar for 5-7 years.
Serving advice
If the temperature is warm outside, try popping the bottle in the fridge for 30 minutes before you open it.
If it is a cold day outside, serve it a room temperature.
Give the wine some time to open up... Don't judge it after the first sip, give it some time to build on your palate.
Food match
This goes really well with a pizza from our local pizza shop, Roaring 40's. They have won heaps of awards for their pizza, but for some reason (3 kids under 4!) we always seem to end up ordering pepperoni and Hawaiian.
It also goes nicely with a french triple cream brie cheese...

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
