About the wine

If you ask Pemberton based Ben Rector, “Chardonnay, more than any other variety, should be a wine that makes you say YUM.” This cool-climate classic does just that!
Growing alongside world famous black truffles and healthy hazelnut trees allowed this wine to take full advantage of the rich and healthy soil, delivering intense flavours of fresh white peach and pear, hints of vanilla and a nod to spice from its time spent in oak.
Food lovers will delight in this rich white, it’s as versatile as they come and is known for accompanying almost any meal with ease!

Perfectly suited to being opened and drunk tonight but certainly would be amazing to look at after 5 years in the cellar.

Don't be afraid to leave it open for a day (if you can!) and go back to it over time. The wine will evolve both in flavour and mouthfeel.

WA is developing an international reputation for Marron (a sweet, small breed of crayfish). Not only is it a personal favourite of Ben's, it is a delicate, sweet seafood and a great match for a Chardonnay from a cooler climate that has lively acidity like this one.

Meet the winemaker - Ben Rector
- Ben Rector is out to show the potential of the lesser known vineyards of WA. With more than 20 years experience across some of Australia's premier winemaking regions, he knows exactly what to look for in grape quality, no matter the climate. In 2019, he was awarded the Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot trophies at the regional wine show.
- The Pemberton and Geographe regions of South West WA are Ben's main focus. His aged release reds have all sold out in record time, and his flair for Chardonnay is undeniable.
- Ben takes great pride in his artistic licence, always ensuring that his wines go above and beyond. Angel feedback is gold dust, and the support he has received has allowed Ben to increase his output astronomically. All this in five short Naked years...what will he do next?!
