About the wine
Old vines create luscious character
- The return of Thomas's Top Shelf Shiraz is more triumphant than ever, after a sky-high 92% rating by thousands of Angels last vintage! It is packed to the brim with aromas of dark berries, cocoa and hints of lifted pepper, leading to a rich and voluptuous mouth feel.
- Situated in the beautiful Upper Hunter, this old Shiraz vineyard is dry grown, producing intensely flavoured fruit. Partial barrel fermentation in a blend of French and American oak has given it luscious length to highlight the amazing characters of the fruit. Thomas has a true soft spot for this beautiful vineyard.
- Full bodied, fleshy and ripe in style, this is an incredible example of just what Hunter Shiraz can do, exclusively for Angels at under $17. Unbelievable!

Enjoy this wine as is. is a stunning example of a 2 year old Hunter Valley Shiraz.It will develop with some time but I am loving this as we speak.
Serving advice
Serve this at room temperature, certainly not hot! If you think aeration will help go for it! but at the moment I am loving it as is!
Food match
Any form of bbq game to be honest!!! A very flexible shiraz that certainly will be enjoyed in any situation and with any form of Meat!

Meet the winemaker - Thomas Hordern
- Born into a winemaking family, Thomas has been up to his ears in grape juice all his life and active in the business for over 15 years. His intimate knowledge of the Hunter grape growing region is next level.
- His true passion, and lifelong dream, was one day to summon up the courage to go 100% Naked. He instinctively believed there had to be a better way than slogging away working for the ‘man’.
- When his day job came to a halt, Angel funding came to the rescue and Thomas is now fully Naked and fully focused on crafting thousands of cases of Angel-exclusive Wiley Rooster NSW deliciousness.
