Ashley Horner Family Reserve Hunter Chardonnay 2018
About the wine
Single vineyard, organic and simply moreish!
- Get ready to lay back and bask in the tastiness of this cracker from Ash! You'll be met with an aromatic lift of wild flower, nectarine and subtle oak nuances. Then your lips will be smacking with each sip - think subtle creamy oak with hints of pineapple, peaches and fresh citrus acidity.
- You'll love knowing each glass full has come from a limited supply of quality certified organic grapes, grown in the Upper Hunter Valley at the base of Mt Dangar. Deep red sandy soils allowed Ash to work towards his passion - crafting wine with elegance and a true sense of place.
- The last vintage sold out before we had time to say 'Organic' so get in quick! Spring is in the air - the perfect time to enjoy this unique Chardy on its on own or with some beautiful spring cuisine.
Best before
Drinking well now and will develop nicely until 2023, revealing lovely creaminess and oak flavours.
Serving advice
Serve chilled, then as the wine sits in the glass the flavours and aromas will evolve.
Food match
Scrumptious with creamy chicken pasta or a platter of cured meats, cheese and olives. For the seafoodies, it's tough to go past a bucket of fresh prawns. Yum!
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ashley Horner
- Born and bred in the Upper Hunter Valley, Ash worked in local vineyards while helping to establish his Family Vineyard.
- He's one of the most passionate people we've ever met! When asked what he loved most about his job, his answer was "Everything! I love the action during vintage and the progression of grapes becoming a bottle to enjoy. I love the diversity and the abstract thinking you can put into creating a wine product. I also love the diversity of the people that work in the industry and how winemaking makes me feel complete in my life".
- What's the difference between Ash and the rest? His grapes are from organic vineyards and are made using fully certified organic practices!
