About the wine
flavour bomb explosion in a glass!
The inclement weather surrounding the 2017 vintage provided its own challenges for our NZ superstar Nicky Parish, but, sourcing parcels of fruit from three separate North Canterbury vineyards has produced a stunning Pinot Gris.
The natural fruit sweetness is balanced with a perfect acidity backbone that is such a hallmark of great cool-climate wines.
The mouthfeel is multi-layered and textured giving the wine depth, balance and intrigue. You’ll be bowled over by the aromas of apricots, pears and turkish delight jumping out of the glass!
Best before
This wine will be great for the next 5 years. Drinking it best in the next year but will age well.
Serving advice
Please serve slightly chilled.
Food match
I can never go past pairing our Pinot Gris with freshly caught fish/seafood like pan fried Snapper or Salt & Pepper Squid. Served with a bright green salad and new potatoes (minted of course) ideal!

Meet the winemaker - Nicky Parish
Nicky’s parents, Peter and Felicity, chose the tiny, unique Waipara Valley in New Zealand’s South Island to plant their longed for vineyard. Pruning the vines on crisp winter mornings ignited Nicky’s love affair with wine.
The Parish family continued to grow grapes for the best producers in New Zealand for 10 years, but yearned for greater security and their own name on the label. With Nicky now a seasoned winemaker, Angels gave her the amazing opportunity to work with and learn from her father.
To this day, Angels allow Nicky to grow the business and spend time with young family. With Peter taking a well-earned governorship role, Nicky’s picking up the baton managing more of the business. Although Peter is never far away (the local golf course) if she needs some advice!
