About the wine
A Rosé with a ton of attitude!
-
Slow-ripening Tempranillo grapes from cool-climate Hilltops, NSW, provide the guts and the glory of this vibrant wine. Glen and Andrew’s winemaking magic does the rest!
-
The deep rouge colour hints at the depth and intensity within - perhaps it’s more of a ‘baby red’! This is a Rosé on steroids - bursting with flavour, aromas and texture.
-
Grab a glass and enjoy the red berry flavours & aromas and clean, crisp finish of this medium-bodied little devil of a wine.
Best before
Roses are generally enjoyed as soon as theyre released. However, because our Rose has a judicious amount of acidity, flavour & aroma it could develop over the next few years. Drink within 6 years of vintage.
Serving advice
Serve this wine slightly warmer than fridge temperature to unlock the flavours & aromas.
Food match
This Rose is the ultimate versatile wine. However, because of its clean & crisp flavours it could highlight clean, pure & uncomplicated flavours. Think of carpaccio of either meat or fish, thinly sliced & served raw. The Granite Belt is becoming famous for its winter truffles. Beef carpaccio could be served with lemon, olive oil & truffle. Trout carpaccio could simply be served with lemon , olive oil, salt & pepper with a side of mango slices.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Glen Robert & Andrew Scott
- Expected the unexpected from this creative Queensland pair! When Glen and Andrew stumbled upon Shiraz and Viognier vines in need of a little TLC in 2014, they knew they had found the perfect place to begin their La Petite Mort journey.
- Thanks to Angel support, Glen (former research scientist) and Andrew (hospitality guru) have been able to re-vitalise a historic, cool-climate vineyard in the Granite Belt, flexing their sustainable winemaking skills with slow-ripening, hand-picked fruit that packs a flavourful punch!
- From fermenting in terracotta amphora to partially drying grapes, the innovative techniques behind the hidden gems in the La Petite Mort range represent the idea of letting go of restraints and revelling in something new… like Glen and Andrew’s truly artisan wines!
