About the wine
Great vintage + great winemaker = great wine!
- Rated a whopping 93% or above every vintage, this stunning red was lovingly crafted from perfect little Barossan grapes. Adam knows just who to call for the best ones!
- 2019 was an outstanding vintage in the Valley, all that needed adding was a skilled and passionate winemaker like Adam and some French Oak barrels. If you love big juicy reds, this one’s got your name all over it.
- This beautiful wine is rich in brambly flavour with that classic touch of dark chocolate and liquorice. Outstanding value for a wine of this quality.
Best before
Drink now but will cellar for 5+ years under the right conditions.
Serving advice
Decant well before serving and use good quality wine glasses that make you smile (but never drink out of anything you are not prepared to break!) Drink with people you like, preferably by a nice cosy fire - or a raging bonfire - its a personal thing.
Food match
Great for cold weather drinking - so think hearty casseroles or one-pot winter warmers or even a juicy rare roast beef. My favourite is my mother's beef casserole with lots of winter vegetables and topped with herb and parmesan dumplings.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Adam Barton
- Adam Barton began his winemaking journey largely as a result of tasting a glass of the 1965 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy, which he described as "magic". He was already a master craftsman when we found him, creating tiny amounts of his own premium label wines and winning big at the wine shows.
- Based in the Clare Valley, Adam has the freedom to explore different variteals and keep pushing the boundaries of experimentation to the delight of Angels' taste buds. We knew from the start he was a wine genius and Angels would love him!
- Adam's Rabbit & Spaghetti range of wines are snapped up by Angels, year in, year out. Carefully selected vineyards, passionate grower partners & lots of care and attention to the smallest detail in the winery make them an amazingly good drop.
