Tread Lightly Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2021
About the wine
From a single vineyard with vines in the prime of their life
- Langhorne Creek is a perfect little pocket of South Australia just south of the Adelaide Hills, known for its delicious reds. One of the lesser well-known regions, its now basking in well-deserved glory!
- A whiff of red and black fruit, smokey meat and dried herbs will lure you in to a glassful of plum, blackberry and raspberryness with fine, smooth tannins. Take a sip and let the luscious flavours roll across your tongue in waves.
- Treated with kid gloves by a sensational winemaker and matured in French and American oak for 7 months, it’s a steal for the price. “I can imagine this wine will become a household favourite for a few of you!” smiles Josh.
Best before
I have made this wine with a drink now approach in mind, as I believe a lot of consumers these days struggle to "cellar" wine.
It is drinking perfectly well now, and will continue to drink well for the next 3-5 years I would imagine.
Buy a few, open one and see what you think.
Serving advice
Twist the top, pour it in your favourite glass, sit back and enjoy!
Food match
My beautiful wife, Ellen makes a pretty mean lasagne, which goes very well with this wine... Something with red meat and tomato based flavours. Even a richer pork dish perhaps, but I can confirm that this does work well with lasagne.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
