About the wine
An Australian take on a classic Alsatian white wine
- The Riesling for this blend comes from 30-year-old vines perched on alluvial river flats in Central Victoria. The influence of the river cools the temperature at night, helping the grapes develop delicate floral aromatics. The Gewurtztraminer comes from a higher altitude vineyard in the King Valley.
- Both parcels of grapes were kept separate so they could be treated in different ways and bring more complexity to the finished wine. The final step was mapping out the perfect blend of 63% Riesling and 37% Gewurtztraminer.
- The result is a crisp refreshing white wine with a kaleidoscope of aromatics - delicate floral, citrus, hints of rose petal and Turkish delight. A truly Australian representation of a classic Alsatian blend, it's also a one off, 'Winemaker's Fantasy' wine.

Stunning now whilst young, vibrant and fresh, but will develop even more layers and interest if cellared, up to 10 years

We love this with Szechuan Spicy Chicken, Kingfish carpaccio with tangy citrus dressing or Nina's suggestion for an Alsation dish is a traditional bacon and onion Alsation tart.

Meet the winemaker - Nina Stocker & Kate Day
Nina Stocker and Kate Day are multi award-winning winemakers whose lives have been inextricably linked since they became besties at Uni. They've since chalked up more than 30 years combined experience in some of the greatest and most historic winemaking regions on the planet in France, Italy, the US, Portugal, NZ and here in Aus.
Nina became Chief Winemaker for Catalina Sounds, Crowded House and Nanny Goat in NZ, scoring the prized Air New Zealand Trophy for Best Sauvignon Blanc. Kate was winemaker at the esteemed Willunga-100 winery in McLaren Vale when two of her wines were finalists in the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy. But creating a wine label together was their elusive dream.
It finally became a reality the day they knocked on the door of Naked HQ. Within minutes of trying their wines and realising what a truly formidable team these two made, the Two Pairs deal was done and dusted. And the name Two Pairs? A chance meeting at Kate’s wedding where Nina meet, and then married, the best man - Kate’s husband's identical twin brother. Thus creating... two pairs!
