About the wine
Rich, soft & juicy WA Shiraz
- Ben Rector is on a mission to make you exquisite wines from lesser known regions of WA. Rating above 90% buy-again year after year, this tasty Shiraz - made with incredible Geographe fruit and a generous handful from Perth Hills - is no exception.
- This elegant red is aromatically charged with ripe plum and juicy red fruits and berry flavours matched by spice from the French oak. Each sip delivers ripe, bouncy flavours and a lingering finish.
- With 20+ years of winemaking knowledge poured into every bottle, there's no doubt Ben has nailed this Shiraz once again. Best to stock up with a few and compare it as it develops from year to year!
Best before
Its a perfect open now and drink wine. Otherwise it'll do well in the cellar for a couple of years
Serving advice
Ideally open at room temperature, ideally 15-20 deg. If too cold the flavours are inhibited. While decanting isn't critical, I always recommend giving screw capped reds a splash if you think it is likely the entire bottle will be consumed in a sitting. This helps liberate some of the aromatics, and blow of any sulphides from the wine being locked up in a bottle for so long.
Food match
This is my go to Steak Wine. Medium Rare T-Bone with a red wine Jus reduction. Makes me hungry thinking about it.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ben Rector
- Ben Rector is out to show the potential of the lesser known vineyards of WA. With more than 20 years experience across some of Australia's premier winemaking regions, he knows exactly what to look for in grape quality, no matter the climate. In 2019, he was awarded the Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot trophies at the regional wine show.
- The Pemberton and Geographe regions of South West WA are Ben's main focus. His aged release reds have all sold out in record time, and his flair for Chardonnay is undeniable.
- Ben takes great pride in his artistic licence, always ensuring that his wines go above and beyond. Angel feedback is gold dust, and the support he has received has allowed Ben to increase his output astronomically. All this in five short Naked years...what will he do next?!
