Two wine industry luminaries getting out of big business to do their own thing

Paul and Ralph came on board in 2019, bringing a combined 65 years experience with some of the most admired wineries in the land. They’d made the big leap out on their own a few years before — their exquisite wines catching the attention of top wine critics right away. In 2015 they were awarded a Halliday 5-Star Rating and Top 10 New Wineries listing.

But it’s one thing to make award-winning wine and another thing entirely to get it into the hands of people who’ll love it. That’s where Naked swooped in and connected them to wine-loving Angels across the land. “Getting Naked means we don’t have to go through the normal wholesale and retail gatekeepers before we get real feedback on what we are crafting,” explains Ralph.

Their partnership is proof there is no substitute for experience - across every touch of their wine. The two are focused on creating wines that are truly authentic to their variety and where they were grown.

Paul Byron & Ralph Dunning’s Story
Paul and Ralph came on board with us in 2019, bringing a combined (and very impressive!) 65 years of experience with some of the most admired wineries in the country. They’d made the big leap out on their own a few years before, with their exquisite wines catching the attention of top wine critics right away. In 2015, they were awarded a 5-Star Halliday rating and Top 10 New Wineries listing, and they’ve gone from strength to strength ever since.
But it’s one thing to make award-winning wine and another thing entirely to get it into the hands of people who’ll love it. That’s where Naked swooped in and connected them to wine-loving Angels across Australia.
“Getting Naked means we don’t have to go through the normal wholesale and retail gatekeepers before we get real feedback on what we’re crafting,” explains Ralph.
Paul & Byron are focused on creating minimal impact wines that are truly authentic to their variety and where they were grown, with the aim to conserve their sites & soils for generations to come.
The two bring together more than just their own partnership. Their wines also demonstrate the importance of true partnership in all aspects of wine – site, soil & climate, vine, sun & rain, grower and winemaker… and how one enhances the other.
