Hugely talented winemaker from the Clare Valley
- Adam Barton began his winemaking journey largely as a result of tasting a glass of the 1965 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy, which he described as "magic". He was already a master craftsman when we found him, creating tiny amounts of his own premium label wines and winning big at the wine shows.
- Based in the Clare Valley, Adam has the freedom to explore different variteals and keep pushing the boundaries of experimentation to the delight of Angels' taste buds. We knew from the start he was a wine genius and Angels would love him!
- Adam's Rabbit & Spaghetti range of wines are snapped up by Angels, year in, year out. Carefully selected vineyards, passionate grower partners & lots of care and attention to the smallest detail in the winery make them an amazingly good drop.

Adam Barton's Story
Adam's story
Adam Barton has been winemaking since 2001 and largely started as a result of tasting a glass of the 1965 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy which he describes as magic!
Adam completed a commerce degree straight from high school. His first job was as an assistant manager of the cellar door at Rothbury Estate in the Hunter Valley. This led to subsequent roles in wholesale, retail & marketing. However, his interest always led back to the winery and to the winemakers who were very generous with their time and helped fuel Adam's interest in winemaking and production. He tested his way with several vintages as a cellar hand before finally studying to be a winemaker!
When asked what it was about his job he loved, Adam replied with 'The diversity of the work... driving tractors in the vineyard, in the winery, laboratory work, tasting, sales.... it's perfect for someone with the attention span of an ant."
We are lucky to have Adam join the Naked Wines family and the secret to his wines he puts down to carefully selected vineyards, passionate grower partners and care and attention to detail in the winery.
Adam was recently named as one of James Halliday's top 10 new producers & from the cheeky tasting we had of his new riesling, we'd have to agree!
