Jane’s been entrenched in the wine industry since the mid ‘80s, either making it, buying it, selling it or writing about it. And she’s loved every minute of it.

Mark’s a 40-year veteran of the wine industry, making world-class wine for Matua Valley, Fosters and Cellarmasters in his time. Nowadays, he’s the chief winemaker, global, at Treasury Wine Estates.
- In 2016, they stumbled across a neglected vineyard in the Barossa Valley and poured every ounce of their being into re-energising its gnarly vines. Now it’s in peak condition and they’re creating Naked-exclusive Shiraz from those 20-year-old vines!

Jane Osborne's Story
Jane’s illustrious career in wine began with a Science degree specialising in sensory evaluation and product development.
That clever concoction of skills, underpinned with a few stints at vintage, opened grape-stained doors for her on both sides of the planet.
From a well known wine specialist in the UK to a small start-up wine merchant in New Zealand, Jane immersed herself in the industry. Along the way she wrote about wine for popular publications, helped develop a vineyard and became a senior wine judge.
Mark is a legend in Australian winemaking circles, with almost 40 years in the industry under his belt.
He’s made world-class wine for Matua Valley, Fosters and Cellarmasters to name a few. Nowadays, he’s the chief winemaker, global, at Treasury Wine Estates.
In 2016, they bought a lonely, unloved vineyard.
The couple stumbled across the neglected vineyard in Stone Well in the Barossa Valley. Basking in bright sunlight, with sweeping views to the west, its 20-yr-old Shiraz vines were languishing on a forgotten hillside, desperate for attention.
It was an irresistible challenge for the seasoned wine stars.
With one vineyard development in stunning Hawke’s Bay, NZ, under her belt, Jane was ready to make her mark again.
This rescue was both daunting and liberating in equal measure. Jane and Mark poured every ounce of their being into re-energising Haylock vineyard (named after Mark's grandmother) and its gnarly vines. After endless compositing, mulching, pruning and watering, it was in peak condition and ready to give up its first vintage under the couple’s care.
Their Naked Wines are the only ones they make from that vineyard. Lucky you!
