About the wine
Rare rich & velvety McLaren Vale Shiraz
- Made with grapes from McLaren Vale vines - some 75 years old - and handled as separate batches all the way to final blending to let the character of each shine in the final wine.
- Judicious barrel selection for blending makes this a truly special Reserve McLaren Vale Shiraz. Inside its plum and blackberry spice hides a hint of vanilla. Rich and powerful with a superb velvety texture, amazing length and moreish finish, you’re going to love, love, love this!
- This red gem is a scarcity, with less than 5,000 bottles produced. A superb price for a wine made from uber quality grapes, open fermented, hand crafted, barrel matured and dripping with class.

This will definitely reward 10+ years cellaring in appropriate conditions - buy a few and tuck a few away for some rainy days!
Serving advice
Some breathing will definetely be advantageous, use a Vinturi to aerate what your putting in the glass, or decant and consume in a 1-2 day period.

Heisker Farm Wagyu fillet slow cooked over charcoal; served with roasted seasonal local veggies, duck fat roasted potatos and crusty baguette - serioulsy delicious and letting the quality of the produce shine!

Meet the winemaker - Geoff Thompson
The first winemaker in his family, Geoff got to grips with grapes in 2002 and left a promising career in photographic science to do something he was passionate about. Hard work and enviable talent saw him work his way up the wine-stained ladder to Senior Winemaker at the Tahbilk Group in Victoria, in charge of more than a million cases a year!
Building a reputation as a master blender, Geoff won a ton of gold medals and trophies for his wines - and developed an itch to branch out on his own, back in his McLaren Vale homeland. Angels helped him scratch it in 2013 when a phone call in a car park kicked off his dream to create wines under his own label for them!
With his winemaking wizardry and access to some of the best grapes in the country, Geoff has been wowing Angels with his sensational South Australian wines ever since. He’s caught the eye of the critics too. In 2022, his winery was awarded 4.5 stars in the iconic Halliday wine companion.
