Liz Richardson Southern Fleurieu Signature Shiraz 2016
About the wine
Repeats its top-rating performance every vintage!
- Liz's finely crafted treasures are back, better than ever! This deep crimson Shiraz started out as intensely flavoured grapes on low yielding Southern Fleurieu vines, harvested in the cool of the night.
- Ageing the wine in American oak has enhanced the natural plum and blackberry layers with hints of chocolate, white pepper and spice. Southern Fleurieu is right next door to McLaren Vale, and this class is evident with each delicious sip.
- Fleshy tannins give the wine great structure, while toasty cinnamon notes compliment the palate. Past vintages of this cracking Shiraz have all been quick to sell out, with rave reviews and a massive 94% buy-again rating from Angels. Getting your hands on this boutique SA Shiraz for under $15 is an Angel-only privilege...go on and enjoy!
Best before
Drinking fantastically at the moment, this Shiraz will continue to improve over the next five to eight years.
Serving advice
Open up and let the wine breathe for an hour or so before drinking, or decant to speed up the breathing process. In hotter weather, try putting the wine in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes so it's not so warm and cloying.
Food match
Fantastic alongside steak with bordelaise sauce, or braised wagyu brisket with bone marrow and mash.
Contains sulphites
