Obelisk Ded Reckoning Cellar Release Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
About the wine
Small batch, single vineyard Wrattonbully red!
- This small batch premium red is an excellent example of what a cool climate cabernet can be when great grapes from a well-established single vineyard meet talented Naked winemakers, the Hoopers.
- The 2020 vintage was very small but high in quality - think tiny berries jam packed with flavour. 18 months in beautiful French oak has already softened the tannins but it has plenty more time to go.
- Don’t miss your chance to try a premium wine from one of the most up-and-coming underrated wine regions in South Australia. Not to mention it’s made by a couple of absolute stars!
Best before
You can drink the wine now, but you can also hold onto it for a special occasion. We suggest buying one or two to compare them over the years
Serving advice
Leave to air for about half an hour and then drink.
Food match
We come from the country and so we canÂ’t go past a decent steak and cabernet for a special occasion. The acid drive paired with oak undertones makes this a wine you can enjoy with those richer styles foods that arenÂ’t everyday meals.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Derek Hooper
Hooper & Co’s wines echo the pristine land they come from, the local community and pushing wine boundaries (Derek’s speciality!)
Derek’s son, Harry, splits his time between winemaking and brewing. Daughter Grace is already elbow deep in grape juice, and Daisy is a marketing specialist in the industry.
From father Kym’s first vineyard back in 1992, through Derek, to his fresh-faced, eager charges, they are one of the new families of wine. And they’re out to stir up your palate with fantastic drops with sustainability at their core.
