About the wine
Iconic Barossa Shiraz from a regional master
- Sourcing pristine grapes from some of the best vineyards across the Barossa Valley has given Josh a raft of diverse fruit characters to play with. The result is a classic rich and regal Barossa Shiraz that captures the essence of the iconic wine region.
- Matured for the most part in old French and American oak barrels, this deep red gem is bold in flavour but soft and smooth on the tongue. Get your senses ready for loads of juicy black and blue fruits with some hints of spice and smokey oak. Truly delicious.
- This is one of the most famous styles of wines in the world now, along with the likes of Burgundy, Tuscany and Bordeaux. With the ability to age for 10+ years, this is a supreme Barossa Shiraz you can enjoy with your friends over dinner or tuck away and keep just for yourself!
Best before
This wine would benefit from a bit of time in bottle... I would say it will be drinking at its best from 2023-2028, but perhaps open a bottle sooner rather than later and decide for yourself!
Serving advice
If you are opening this wine soon after receiving it, I would suggest opening it and decanting it into another vessel before drinking. If you have managed to cellar it for a few years, simply open the bottle and have a try. If you think it needs some air, decant a bit and try again!
Food match
This is the perfect pair for red meat. Your favourite cut of steak, even venison or kangaroo if you are game. The full bodied character of this wine will stand up to quite bold flavours, but avoid anything with too much chilli or spice, as it will just make the wine look hot.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
