Cover the label and you could be excused for thinking you were drinking bubbles produced by the likes of Bollinger or Louis Roederer, such is the quality and sophistication of this relatively new entry into the heady and competitive world of French Champagnes; you know … the real stuff from France. First introduced in 2014; it owes its existence to crowd funding and the man who shares the same name - Jean Philippe “JP” Moulin. An expert champagne-maker, Moulin managed to get about AUD$800,0000 worth of funding and put the expertise gained by working with the likes of Ruinart Champagne, Mumm and Maison Perrier-Jouët to good use. I’m no wine expert, but I can tell good from bad and excellent from average when it comes to Champagne; an ability acquired from 30 years in the corporate world and frequenting the point-end of aircraft. There’s the choice of Non-Vintage or the more refined Vintage Champagne that lingers longer on the pallet; made with the same authenticity as those that sell for 2 and 3 times the price. But you’ll have to be Naked Wines Angel investor to get your hand on this rising star. In my opinion is well worth becoming one just to do so.
