Since those early days, renowned viticulturist Andrew and his family have built the business into an enviable Halliday 5-star winery. Their celebrated range of wines are critically acclaimed and have won a couple of ’best in show’ trophies over the years.

Andrew & Jamie Pike's Story
You’ve probably heard of the family already. Maybe you’ve tried one of their wines.
A bottle of their iconic Riesling has graced many a dining table over the years.
The Pikes have been growing grapes and making wine in the Clare Valley since 1984, although the family was woven into the South Australian wine industry well before then.
Since those early days, renowned viticulturist Andrew and his family have built the business into an enviable Halliday 5-star winery.
Their celebrated range of wines are critically acclaimed and have won a couple of ’best in show’ trophies over the years.
“Dad’s a driving force here. He managed vineyards for Wynns in Coonawarra, before moving to Clare to develop a vineyard for Penfolds. He continued working for Penfolds and eventually the parent company Southcorp in the Barossa Valley, overseeing vineyard operations for the whole company. Not only Penfolds, but Wolf Blass, Lindemanns, Leo Buring and many others.
“During this time he and Mum were also busy setting up the family’s own vineyard and business in Clare Valley, so there was quite a bit going on!” — Jamie.
In other words, he’s a bit of a rockstar in wine circles.
It was into this highly skilled and hard-working environment that Andrew’s son Jamie was born.
He was literally brought up in the vines — living in the Barossa and spending weekends and school holidays in Clare Valley. Jamie spent many a long day in the vineyards and winery, learning the ins and outs of wine.
After studying Wine Marketing at Adelaide Uni and getting a couple of vintages under his belt, Jaime set off to broaden his experience in sales and management. He landed a plum role at a Sydney wine distributor, representing iconic brands like Bollinger, Henschke, St Hallett and Petaluma, and Villa Maria.
But before long, his heart pulled him back to South Australia to pour all his business expertise into Pike’s Wines.
“The expectation for joining the family business has always been that we needed to bring something to the table. I came back into it about five years ago and I love being a part of it. We have a fantastic and passionate team in the winery and vineyard, some of which have been with us for over 20 years!” — Jamie.
But 2020 was still very challenging for the Pikes.
After the repercussions of COVID and two drought affected vintages, they were in a pretty daunting position. Full of grit and determination, the team dug deep, pulled together and kept the ship sailing.
Now, with Naked’s Angels showering Andrew & Jamie with support, their future is more secure and even brighter than ever.
