About the wine
Big, robust and a little bit different
- Angels, this is a brand new exclsuive crafted with a unique experience in mind. Adrian & Rebecca have delivered a dreamy drop with a whole lotta attitude. Deep brooding flavours of bramble and dark spicy fruit are teamed with balanced oak, earthy notes and strong tannins.
- Certainly one to decant, this wine has a long life ahead of it! Give it time, slow the pace and kick your feet up while it breathes. Perfect to serve with hearty meals or good quality cheese.
- Durif is a hybrid variety that originates in France, although it is not grown there so much these days. It is now grown extensively throughout Australia and the California - it loves a warm climate. Durif produces small berries with thick skins, so creates quite bold, deep colored and tannic wines.
Best before
This has the potential to cellar anywhere from 5-10 years, which will certainly reward.
Serving advice
Decant. Decant. Decant. Then decant some more. This baby is still just thatÂ… a baby. ItÂ’s only just been born and itÂ’s got a long life ahead of it. Use a decanter if you have one, or just pour it into a large jug and give it a few good swirls over the course of an hour (or more preferably) before serving. It will completely transform the wine. The oxygen helps to soften the tannins a little, bringing out those subtle (and not so subtle) complexities it has hiding away.
Food match
Anything rich, warming and hearty. Think beef stews, slow cooked anything, chilli con carneÂ… things along those lines are going to go down a treat with this wine. Try it with some dark, bitter chocolate for a more interesting pairing.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Adrian & Rebecca Santolin
- Adrian and Rebecca Santolin have been involved in winemaking for more than 20 years. Their dream was to one day make their own wine — but how? In a no guts, no glory move, this plucky pair used their hard-earned savings to make one barrel of Pinot Noir. The outcome was life changing...
- Their talent shone through right from the start and we snapped them up as our first Naked winemakers back in 2012. This dynamic duo are among our most popular winemakers, adored by thousands of wine-drinkers who love their European approach to the grape.
- Since those early days, the talented pair have gone from strength to strength, fuelled by their admiring Angels and a passion for crafting sensational wines. Over the first 10 years of being Naked, they scooped up 13 trophies, 55 gold medals and countless silver and bronze. And they show no signs of stopping!
