Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
Elegant, cool climate, WA drop
- A premium Cabernet from Western Australia should be in every wine-lover’s collection! This fantastic wine comes from a site close to Rocky Gully, which is in between Frankland River and Mount Barker.
- The 2022 season was a little cooler than usual which resulted in a long, slow ripening period and a classic, cool climate Great Southern style. The winemaking skill of The Companions team is evident, with no hint of bitterness and a perfect 12 month ageing process in both French and American oak.
- It’s an elegant drop, and the winemaking process has allowed the fruit flavours to shine. There are some more delicate floral notes to enjoy too, and happily, it’s ready to drink now. It’s a slightly lighter wine that is easy to sip and sure to impress!
Best before
I think this is a very drink now style as its slightly lighter on its feet and elegant. It will still age well for 3 - 5 years, however its soft and fruit forward and built for immediate consumption.
Serving advice
open with good friends and a nice cheese plate
Food match
lamb goes very well with this but so will pasta and pizza
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ralph, Paul & Rory The Companions
- Halliday awarded duo Paul Byron & Ralph Dunning have persuaded Naked Winemaker Rory Clifton-Parks to join them in the sheds – and we’re so excited!
- Hailing from WA, Rory has been making wine for 15 years now, and has long been an Angel favourite, so the collaboration was a no-brainer for Paul & Ralph.
- Between them, these legends have 80 years’ experience, covering all aspects of the Aussie wine trade. With that kind of street cred, you can bet the wines won’t disappoint.
