Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
Soft, silky Californian Cabernet from an Aussie master
- A rare treat from one of our top winemakers. Ex-Grange wizard Daryl is now making stunning wines from some of the best regions in the US where he lives for part of the year. So we thought you should have them!
- Sourced from two different vineyards whose grapes go into other wine brands three times the price, Daryl describes the main vineyard “like walking into a candy shop as a child. Everything I ever dreamed of at arms reach.” With grapes this good, you let them do the talking! Daryl’s light touch has created a sophisticated yet juicy drop with just enough oak to add complexity but not overpower it.
- A sexy deep purple, it carries a fresh, vibrant blackcurrant scent, dusted with chocolate, a little bell pepper and a touch of vanilla smokiness. That fruity warmth? It’s courtesy of a cheeky splash of Sonoma Mountain Malbec in the mix. Soft and silky rather than big and bold, this is sheer elegance in a glass.
Best before
Will easily keep for 20 years. Lovely drinking now with food especially for a cabernet with most ideal drinking in 3-5 years where the wine has complexed and softened in bottle but still retains some fresh fruit vibrance.
Serving advice
Serve at room temperature or just below. If drinking soon after purchase best drunk with food. Will not go well with dessert or sweet if drinking young.
Food match
A nice juicy ribeye or lamb loin chops is best but goddamn I love it with a hamburger and pizza too.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Daryl Groom
- Meet Daryl.... He has been a winemaker for 35 years... with some of his wines even served at the Oscars and Emmys two years in a row!
- Working as the senior white and red winemaker at Penfolds, his 1986 Penfolds Grange was arguably one of the top 3 Granges ever made - 98 points from Wine Spectator and Robert Parker.
- Daryl LOVES making (and drinking) Shiraz... It's silky, sexy and simply delicious he says and the greatest value of all red wines.
