Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
A tempting tango of three great reds
- Created from arguably the three best varieties in the Barossa Valley, this medium-bodied red delivers great value for money as an easy drinking, every day drop. It pairs well with a vast array of food and can even be chilled!
- The fruit was sourced from specifically chosen vineyard sites for their different characteristics. The Grenache from soils rich in ironstone for minerality. The Shiraz from the southern end of the Barossa Valley for more blue fruit characters. The Mataro from sandy soils near Kalimna for a lighter touch with more freshness and spice.
- What a delighfully complex drop! Mataro's spicy vibe is met with bright, juicy Grenache to bring it out of its shell and Shiraz wraps its plush blue-fruited character around the lot. An absolute treat from an ex-Henscke genius.
Best before
To me this wine is going to be showing its best in the next 12-24 months. Having said that, there is no reason why you couldn't age this wine for 5-7 years if you prefer less primary fruit and more secondary, savoury characters in your wines.
Serving advice
This medium-bodied GSM is designed to open and enjoy, as such you should be able to simply twist the top and pour into your glass. It will, however continue to open up in your glass over time, or in the bottle over a period of a day or two. If you are in a rush, or enjoying with a group of friends, this wine will drink perfectly poured into a decanter and shared around shortly after.
Food match
You can't beat a BBQ with a GSM. That meaty, earthy, savoury character of Mataro lends itself to meat. The char grilled nature of a BBQ would pair perfectly with this wine.
Otherwise a tomato based pasta dish with mushroom and basil would be my go to.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
