About the wine
Classic Barossa Shiraz
- Sourced from 3 separate blocks of Shiraz to give the finished wine the right balance of powerful and elegance.
- Josh set about capturing those wonderful fruit characters and flavours in the winery using a minimal intervention style and native yeast (from the grapes). 15 months in oak barrels finished the job and the wine was bottled unfiltered.
- Look out for the mocha, raspberry, blueberry presence with a shake of spice. Richly layered with length and freshness, this is a classic Barossa Shiraz that over delivers in quality for the price!

This wine will age well for 8-10 years comfortably.
Serving advice
You can pop the top and drink this wine without the need to decant the wine, but watch it unfold in the glass over the 15-20 minutes in your glass.
If you are serving it at a dinner party, a half an hour in a decanter would be a good idea to help it open up and show its best as soon as your pour it.
Food match
Like most Shiraz, they are best suited to red meat. We have a great butcher at our local supermarket, who do a thick "chef's cut rump" that is around 1 1/4 inches thick and weigh up to 1kg per steak. This steak cooked medium rare over fire is delicious with this wine.

Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
