About the wine
Superbly crafted wine from an award-winning Chardy expert
Dive into the magic that happens when a multi award-winning Chardy expert gets grapes from a trophy-winning vineyard. It’s been his go-to spot for pristine Chardonnay grapes for 14 years!
The result is a wine of glorious power and elegance with just the right balance of oak. Ripe pear and white peach are intertwined with smoked cashew notes and the finish is fresh and mouth-puckeringly clean.
A wine from a vineyard of such pedigree, combined with the level of winemaking input and attention to detail would usually set you back $35-$45. You can take it for a spin for a lot less, because YOU made it happen!
Best before
The freshness of the wine makes it quite approachable whilst young. However the natural structure and complexity of flavours would ensure confident cellaring over the next 7-10 years.
Serving advice
Avoid over-chilling this wine, serving at 9-12 deg C should be perfect. There is a lot of flavour here and serving it too cold will subdue some of these tasty treats.
Food match
Saffron Chicken and Herb Salad. The full, yet fresh flavours of this Ottelenghi favourite would be the perfect match to this wine.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Mike & Callum Garland
Father, Mike (‘Babbo’), spent the last 14 vintages at Castelli Estate in Denmark, WA, creating wines like their ‘Il Liris’ Chardonnay that won Best White in the 2020 AND 2021 International Wine & Spirit Competition. He’s in demand with other leading WA wineries like Rockcliffe, Singlefile and Plantagenet too.
Mike’s son Callum (‘Mimmo’) is snapping eagerly at his heels - an up-and-coming winemaker in his own right. He’s already up to his ears in grape juice, learning the ropes from one of the real characters of the business in Geelong.
Now, thanks to the backing of thousands of appreciative Angels across Australia, they can come together to create outstanding cool climate wines from the juiciest vineyards in WA's Great Southern region, and Victoria. “That’s so precious and it wouldn’t have happened for many years without the Angels.” says Mike. That's why the wines are just for you.

This wine is the life of the after-party. While other wines might fizzle out, it keeps the energy going with its vibrant flavors and lively character. It's the ultimate night owl of wines.

Up until this past year or two I have been steady coming back trying, Chardonnay and the way they are now is much better over the years they have been in my opinion getting back to the top of my list again.

Chardonnay is a tough gig and this price point is crowded with great competitors. There’s nothing wrong with this excellent Chardonnay, I just can’t fully commit to just this one.

Very fine drinking. Nice balance of fruit and acidity, little flashes of cashew and nectarine. Quality stuff.
