Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.

About the wine
Daryl's finest blend, exclusively for Angels!
At the recent Naked Tastings Event, Daryl Groom’s DRG Daryl Groom Barossa Zinfandel Shiraz 2021 was voted the most popular wine out of the entire 88 available to sample. Outstanding! This brand new vintage is equally amazing.
The blend is quite unique, and Daryl has used 56% Zinfandel and 44% Shiraz. The result is what he has dubbed “a holy union in the bottle”. The region where the grapes were grown is home to fruit that go into some of Australia’s most iconic and expensive wines. “Naked are selling this too cheap!” laughs Daryl. The grapes for this wine hail from Daryl’s own estate vineyard in the Kalimna area of the Barossa Valley - home to some of Australia’s greatest Shiraz vineyards (for example, the iconic Penfolds Grange.) “My vineyard is adjacent to Penfolds, which traditionally supplied the mother source for Grange during my tenure as Penfolds Senior Red Winemaker,” Daryl reveals.
This blend effortlessly showcases Daryl’s skill. The Zinfandel offers a lighter touch, with delicate white and black pepper notes. The Shiraz portion delivers a bolder, silky and sexy taste… and the combination of both is pure class. This wine is a deep red purple and it has a delicious aroma of pepper and spice. It’s soft, smooth and easy to drink, with loads of flavour. Daryl has declared it “one of the most pleasurable wines to drink that we have ever made.”
- Daryl is one of Australia’s best winemakers. He has clocked up more than 35 years experience, including being Penfold’s Senior Red Winemaker in the ‘80s. His 1986 Grange was arguably one of the top three ever made. Daryl’s won a whopping nine Winemaker of the Year awards in the USA, been named by Food and Wine Magazine as one of 11 visionaries to change the world of wine, and his wines have been served at the Oscars and Emmys. Twice.
Best before
Its really lovely now. I love the fresh pepper and spice and forward fruit. It will get better with a years age as the tannins and youthful acidity will soften and integrate more.
Serving advice
In really hot weather serve a little chilled. Otherwise good to just open and serve straight out the bottle. Helps if there is a wine glass!
Food match
This is a wine that works well with so many types of food. From red meat to salmon and everything between. I love this wine with pizza or burgers. It would also be an awesome red wine match to any spicy or gamey foods and it is great with BBQ.

- Daryl LOVES making (and drinking) Shiraz... It's silky, sexy and simply delicious he says and the greatest value of all red wines.
