About the wine
Made for lovers of Italian red blends...
- Naked trailblazers Glen & Andrew have created this delicious Italian-style red from a blend of Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes from award-winning cool climate vineyards in NSW and QLD.
- Open a bottle and let the gentle scent of rose petals, red berries & cedar wood suck you in. This dry, fruity wine is bursting with red berry flavours and a touch of spiciness from 9 months in oak. Its mouth-puckering tannins feel like velvet on your tongue.
- This sensational wine was made in limited numbers. If you love Italian varietals, get a bottle or two while you can. It's going to be snapped up quickly!
Best before
With approachable tannins and fresh primary fruit aromas and flavours, this wine is delightful for immediate enjoyment. However, its intensity and persistence hint at excellent potential for long-term cellaring. Purchase several bottles and open one each year to experience and appreciate the benefits of bottle ageing.
Serving advice
Savour this wine with a hearty meal. In the summer, serve it at "European" cellar temperature, around 17°C. If you don't have a wine fridge, simply chill the bottle in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before serving
Food match
This wine embodies its Italian heritage beautifully. Pair it with a rich, comforting Italian dish, and with every sip, the fresh acidity will cleanse your palate, readying it for another delicious mouthful of Italian food.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Glen Robert & Andrew Scott
- Expected the unexpected from this creative Queensland pair! When Glen and Andrew stumbled upon Shiraz and Viognier vines in need of a little TLC in 2014, they knew they had found the perfect place to begin their La Petite Mort journey.
- Thanks to Angel support, Glen (former research scientist) and Andrew (hospitality guru) have been able to re-vitalise a historic, cool-climate vineyard in the Granite Belt, flexing their sustainable winemaking skills with slow-ripening, hand-picked fruit that packs a flavourful punch!
- From fermenting in terracotta amphora to partially drying grapes, the innovative techniques behind the hidden gems in the La Petite Mort range represent the idea of letting go of restraints and revelling in something new… like Glen and Andrew’s truly artisan wines!
