Made using a technique called 'Ripasso'. This method involves fermenting the wine with extra skins that have been air-dried prior. We air-dry the grapes into sultanas for another wine, but because there is so much flavour left in the skins, we re-use them in the Ripasso. It means 'to re-pass'

The 2014 growing season for Shiraz in the Hilltops and Riverina regions were considered way above average, with the resulting wines showing true varietal expression, intense flavours and deep colour. Angels are in for a real treat with this vintage!
Intense aromas of plum and red berry are complimented by hints of spice, black pepper and subtle toasted oak while the palate brings soft and full-bodied flavours of rich plum and red cherry. The fine tannin structure and subtle oak influences provide expeptional length to this complex wine.

This Shiraz is delicious with floral black fruits, hints of pepper and spice and has been made in to a lovely, elegant style.
The wine is from Hilltops, which is a little known region of immense pedigree... Situated in the Murray-Darling Basin, a cool climate region fast gaining recognition as a consistent producer of ultra top end wine and this Shiraz is a fine example. Impressed? You should be!

The winter preceding the 2015 vintage was wetter than average, which allowed a good level of subsoil moisture to build up, and assisted in allowing the vineyards to withstand several heatwaves experienced throughout ripening. Harvest began earlier than usual, and the fruit produced showed exceptional colour and flavour, with well-balanced acid and tannin profiles.
Enticing aromas of bright red fruits and delightful satsuma plum are complimented by the Generous layers of juicy, ripe berries, a hint of attractive oak and soft, round tannins form the basis of this approachable and easy drinking wine.

Last vintage scored a HUGE rating of 97%. Daryl worked for Penfolds for 8 years and oversaw the maing of Grange. So you are in for a real treat
When making Grange, Daryl saw where the best fruit came from and so bought a vineyard directly opposite to supply his Shiraz grapes. This wine isn't made in the same style as Grange but the essence of the wine, the fruit, is the same.
This is all about the fruit! Super sexy slightly spicy, intense black fruits and some chocolate. Amazingly complex with an outstanding length of flavour!
